- Safety inspection standards
- State and local elevator codes
You are solely responsible for the proper inspection and maintenance of elevators,
regardless of the information or schedules managed through the Service.
5. Content Guidelines
5.1 Acceptable Content
- Accurate service records and maintenance notes
- Photos of route sheets and equipment for legitimate work purposes
- Building addresses and equipment information related to your assigned routes
- Professional communications with team members
5.2 Prohibited Content
- Sexually explicit, pornographic, or inappropriate images
- Violent, threatening, or harassing content
- Discriminatory content based on race, gender, religion, etc.
- Spam, advertisements, or unsolicited promotional material
- Personal information of individuals without their consent
- Content that violates copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
5.3 Work Records vs Personal Notes
Elevator Planner supports two types of information with different sharing rules:
Work Records (Shared Collaboration Data)
Appropriate for Work Records:
- Equipment service dates and maintenance activities performed
- Building access information and contact details (if not confidential)
- Equipment model numbers, installation dates, configurations
- Observable equipment conditions ("noise on roller #3", "oil leak near motor")
- Safety concerns that colleagues should know about
- Repair history and parts replacements
Think of Work Records as entries in a machine room log book:
- They help the next mechanic service the equipment safely
- They remain with the building/route for continuity
- They contain factual, work-related information
Personal Notes (Private to You Only)
Appropriate for Personal Notes:
- Your personal troubleshooting process and hypotheses
- Reminders and tasks for yourself
- Personal schedules and planning
- Unverified suspicions or guesses you're still investigating
- Anything you want to keep private
What You Must NEVER Share (Not Even as Work Records)
Do NOT share the following, even in Work Records:
- Employer proprietary information (custom procedures, internal software, pricing)
- Trade secrets or confidential technical specifications
- Information prohibited by your employment agreement or NDA
- Confidential client information beyond publicly visible building addresses
- Personal information of building tenants or residents
Simple Rule:
If you wouldn't write it in a paper maintenance log that stays in the machine room
and can be seen by any mechanic who services the building, don't put it in a Work Record.
6. Account Sharing and Multiple Devices
6.1 Permitted Account Use
- One account per licensed mechanic
- Access from multiple personal devices (phone, tablet, computer)
- Temporary access from work computers or field devices
6.2 Prohibited Account Sharing
- Sharing login credentials with coworkers (each mechanic should have their own account)
- Using a single account for multiple mechanics
- Allowing unlicensed individuals to use licensed features through your account
7. Team and Company Features
7.1 Appropriate Collaboration
- Sharing route information when routes are transferred between mechanics
- Coordinating schedules within a legitimate work team
- Company affiliation for organizational purposes (licensed mechanics only)
7.2 Collaboration Restrictions
- Do not use team features to enable unauthorized access to licensed features
- Do not create fake Teams or Companies for circumventing restrictions
(note: Company names are verified against NY State DOL registry)
- Do not share login credentials - each mechanic needs their own account
8. Consequences of Violations
8.1 Warning and Remediation
For minor violations or first offenses, we may issue a warning and request that you correct the violation.
8.2 Account Suspension
Serious or repeated violations may result in temporary suspension of your account while we investigate.
8.3 Account Termination
Severe violations, including but not limited to:
- Use of false license information
